Manitowoc may be a city with an old soul, but that doesn't mean we can't bring new ideas to the area. As stated before, Manitowoc Ballet Academy is for everyBODY. Our goal is to create a space where, whether you're young or old, abled or disabled, career driven or a recreational dancer, you can express yourself through dance. Many of the 'Big City Studios' have programs that are inviting to anyone who wants to give dance a try, so why doesn't Manitowoc? What separates our Academy from the others in town?

​

Owner, Elizabeth Check, grew up dancing in Manitowoc. Once she got her pointe shoes in 7th grade, she decided Ballet was her career path. As she entered high school, it became clear that the schools in Manitowoc couldn't offer the professional level of training needed to excel in a ballet career. Her training was behind, so she studied and trained to elevate herself to that professional level. Through the study of Ballet Pedagogy, along with her knowledge in the professional world, Manitowoc Ballet Academy has an educational advantage that no other Manitowoc studios provide.

Manitowoc Ballet Academy will provide your student(s) with opportunities that are at the level of the professional ballet  schools. How? All teachers undergo Ballet Pedagogy studies and learn how to properly teach your dancer for the real world. Because of this training, our academy is on a technical level of its own. MBA also has a newly renovated facility that has the ability to transform into a theater. With the unique design of our studio, we are able to hold in-studio performances, allowing for more performances per year. We don't purely create dancers, we create bright young artists.
